Well, you heard it, folks! I've been coding this website for nearly two months!
Truly, I did not think I would dedicate as much time as I did to this project. Two months ago, this website only had about two pages: a blank homepage and a tier list. With each page, I tried to do something new—a new layout, clickable tabs, lightbox, gradients... and more! And in just two months, I've learned so, so much about HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I'm really proud of where it stands today; I'd say it's about 90% complete. For someone's first time coding a website from scratch, I think I did pretty well :P
My favorite page: Photography - Even though the gallery layout is pretty simple, I like it! It's so satisfying to click through all the tags.
My least favorite page: Art Journey - I had high expectations for this page but not a clear vision ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The horizontal layout isn't compatible with glightbox which is annoying. I really want to remake it some time in the future, maybe with a theater aesthetic?
// A special shout out to the following CSS properties:
- flex box
- grid
- width: fit-content
- descendant combinator
- z-index
// What's Next?
I'll be busy with college in the foreseeable future, so I don't expect to work on this website much. I have a lot of things planned for the shrines, where each page is going to contain multiple sub-pages, which means it's going to take a damn long time to make. Oh well! 'Tis the labor of love.
In other words, this website probably won't look any different the next couple of months. Might do some stuff on the backend like cleaning up codes here and there. Hopefully I'll keep blogging.
