This page is a showcase of how my art has progressed over the years :] Here you'll find a collection of my favorite pieces I've drawn, the artworks I once considered to be my best works, and the ones that hold special meaning to me in some way.
MS Paint, drawn with mouse
This is technically my first ever digital art, but I don't really consider it to be, since I was just a kid messing around in MS Paint :P It probably took me an entire afternoon to draw this.
pencil on paper
This is one of the first original characters I ever drew! They don't have any lore though, just a random one-off character.
pencil on paper
Another random OC! For a while I was obsessed with drawing this specific outfit, inspired by IA's V3 outfit. Around this time is when I figured out how to draw skirt ruffles.
PaintTool SAI, drawn with One by Wacom
I wish have the exact date I drew this, but the original file is long gone. My sister
gifted me her drawing tablet since she doesn't draw that much anymore, and this was the first
thing
I drew after she helped me pirate download the program!
PaintTool SAI, drawn with One by Wacom
I drew this probably within the same week as the previous one, so there's not really any difference in skill level. Why is it significant, then? It was my first time drawing Miku digitally!!
pen and colored pencil on paper
I DON'T PLAY AROUND WHEN I SAY I'M A GIJINKA ENTHUSIAST I'VE BEEN ON THAT SHIT SINCE I WAS IN ElEMENTARY SCHOOL🔥🔥Shout out to mobtalker creator aptx9522🙏their minecraft gijinka changed my brain chemistry as a child.
PaintTool SAI, drawn with One by Wacom
This drawing screams "I'm a beginner artist" in the best way possible. I loveeeeeee drawing floating heads.
pen and colored pencil on paper
I got better at drawing hair :3 The wonky proportions—arms and legs that are way too long—is pretty typical for the time. I only knew how to draw front-facing view lol.
PaintTool SAI, drawn with One by Wacom
I tried to do a super thin line art because that seemed to be pretty popular among artists I follow. I gave up on rendering and background because I knew there was something off about the drawing, but I didn't know what it was, nor did I have the skills to fix it.
pen and colored pencil on paper
Occasionally I'll draw something that's way above my typical skill level. This was one of those times. In 2019 I drew a lot of fullbodies and got better at anatomy!
pen and colored pencil on paper
An anatomy practice that I decided to turn into Miku :3 I like how I drew her hair.
washi tape, pen and colored pencil on paper
This was my first and only time trying washi tape art; it was pretty fun! As you can see from the noodle fingers, hands are my worst enemy lol.
MediBang Paint, drawn with finger
This is like the 3rd or 4th fully rendered drawing I made in MediBang Paint. I was super proud of how it turned out and it was the push I needed to commit to continue doing digital art.
MediBang Paint, drawn with finger
MY FIRST SPACECRAFT GIJINKA DESIGN!!! Mars 2020 is the first mission I followed closely after getting into spaceflight so this one's extra special to me :3 At the time I wanted to make all of my spacejinkas objectheads because I wanted to be Unique^TM but obviously I folded.
MediBang Paint, drawn with finger
Of course I had to include my first JWST design here. Such an iconic spacecraft & the cornerstone of spacecraft gijinka community frfr. For better or for worse this drawing's memorialized on the #JWSTArt public art submission gallery.
MediBang Paint, drawn with finger
This drawing's the beginning of me on the verge of figuring out a new art style. I decided to paint over the line art and that unlocked something in my brain. Also, I really like how I shaded her eyes <3
MediBang Paint, drawn with finger
2022 was the year of learning how to do lighting. I really outdid myself with this one. I think even today it still holds up pretty well, it's one my favorite pieces I've made <3 I think I nailed her design on my first try! Around this time, I started to actually interact with people on Twitter, and this was my first artwork to really gain any traction.
MediBang Paint, drawn with One by Wacom
I feel like this one's pretty representative of what I can do well during this era: design a character and draw a full-body picture of them. I love how I rendered her hair it's so juicy.
MediBang Paint, drawn with One by Wacom
A piece commemorating Ariane 5's last flight! This one took so long to draw but I really wanted to practice drawing a full scene! I'm not 100% satisfied with how it came out, but it's good enough :]
MediBang Paint, drawn with One by Wacom
Part 2 of me trying to get over my fear of drawing backgrounds. Another drawing that took me SO LONG to draw but I'm happy with how it turned out <3 This would make a nice print.
MediBang Paint, drawn with One by Wacom
YURI!!!!!!!!! This was one of my favorites <3333 A "happy new year" drawing I did. Looking back there's a lot of room for improvement, but it's still cute!!
MediBang Paint, drawn with One by Wacom
This was my magnum opus🔥 It was a farewell gift for my high school math teacher who was also a fan of Miku (I got it printed as a poster at Staples). It is by far the biggest drawing I've made (5400 x 7200 pixels).
mixed media, photo and digital
MediBang Paint, drawn with One by Wacom
I've always wanted to draw this kind of mixed media art, where the character is painted as if part of the environment. The background is a photo I took on Christmas of 2018 :} I really like how this one turned out. The atmosphere is so warm and fuzzy <3
MediBang Paint, drawn with One by Wacom
Experimented with colors + painted in a way that I usually don't + used new brushes. I really like how the chibi turned out :3 My art style started to shift ever since this specific drawing.
MediBang Paint, drawn with One by Wacom
Drew this for an art collab! I've unlocked the power of rake brushes🔥🔥 I started with base colors that were tinted in such a way that I never would've dared to a year ago LOL.
MediBang Paint, drawn with One by Wacom
I drew a lot of chibis this year and solidified my new-ish art style. Really like how the colors turned out.
