J Edgar One Hundred Love Sonnets: XVII Mimic

Summary:

A very short love poem inspired J. Edgar (2017).

Notes:

A mimic of One Hundred Love Sonnets: XVII by Pablo Neruda. IDK why I didn't mimic the whole thing. Lowkey might come back and finish it one day. Don't ask me about my J. Edgar phase 💀

My love expressed in muffled bureaucratic language,

In the role of a loyal associate:

In the mundane memos and hidden files upon which we built a shared life

Deliberately obscured affection fills the space between us,

As far as our hands clasped in the darkness

As close as your fingers brush against mine.
