I got into spacecraft gijinka around early 2021. When I made my first spacecraft gijinka design, I didn't even know there was a term for it, let alone a community of artists who were just as enthusiastic about it as I am :]!
What I love about this community/fandom is that there's not really a set of generally agreed upon fanons, so there's a lot of variety when it comes to gijinka designs and worldbuilding <3

For as niche as a community spacecraft gijinka is, artists are surprisingly scattered across social media platforms, which makes it hard to track the development of the community as a whole. Part of what I hope to accomplish through this shrine is to fill in this gap of "fandom history", if you will indulge me :P Though most of all, I hope to convey why spacecraft gijinka has been and continues to be a fascinating concept to many <3
