Pressed Pennies
// I love collecting pressed pennies!!
- This page features pressed pennies I've collected and my memories surrounding the trip during which I acquired them :D My memory isn't all that great, so it's all the more reason to document the stories while I still remember them!
- I feel like Penny Collecting is such a niche hobby and I am by no means a serious collector haha, I just think they're neat! Besides, it's not like I travel around all that often :P
- PennyCollector.com has an amazing extensive catalog of pressed penny machines and their locations.

Independence Hall
In 2017 I went on a vacation trip to NYC/Pennsylvania/D.C. :) Some photos from this trip is in the Photography page.
But also full disclosure I have ZERO recollection of actually obtaining this penny LMAO.
I barely remember anything from this trip, which is a shame.
But granted I was only
10 y/o at the time. I just wish I would've appreciated the D.C. museums more.

Caltech JPL Curiosity Rover
In 2023, my junior year of high school, I had the privilege to participate in the Science Olympiad SoCal state tournament, which took place at Caltech! And of course I had to get the Curiosity rover penny :3
SciOly has a special place in my heart. Probably one
of the best
things that's happened to me in high school.

Aquarium of the Pacific
Erm so like. Apparently I've been there? Too bad because the only thing I remember is you can feed the lorikeets sugar water.

SeaWorld
Ahh yes SeaWorld. Don't remember much from my time there; was with family. I think when I went there I was vaguely aware of the controversies surrounding their orca program. The most I can say about this place is ❝I was there.❞ I enjoyed the restaurant next to it tho, those roasted Brussels sprouts were FIRE.

Soarin' Around the World
Soarin!! From the HS senior year Disneyland trip. I'm usually not good with rides that have the ❝stomach drop❞, but I enjoyed this one :}
Rode it twice. First with a friend who was also scared of roller coasters, then with a larger group of friends after Grad Nite started. Good times.

U.S.S. Intrepid
I went to New York with family, yes, but here's the crazy thing: we did not go to the Intrepid Museum. This I'm 100% certain. Asked my parent and they confirmed it. How I have these pennies is beyond me lol.

Seaport Village
Went there on a whim since I had some time to kill before my train arrived. I am so NOT the target audience of this place LMAOOO. It was rather amusing, really.
Expensive tourist trap shops sprinkled with white millennial humor and a splash
of
conservatism is the best way I can put it.

California Science Center

California Science Center

California Science Center
One of my absolute favorite museums <3 Been there 4? 5? times now :3 I'm here for the space stuff hehe, can't wait to visit again when the new center opens!
The fact that it's free in this day and age when museum entrance fee easily costs $20 is
such
a blessing.
