// I'm Sick AGAIN and it SUCKS
One of the worst things people don't tell you about college is how often you get sick. Against your will.
I suppose it's inevitable when you come in close contact with hundreds if not thousands of people every day. Or maybe my immune system just absolutely sucks. I swear I get sick every quarter. Before college I maybe get sick once per year at MOST. Man.
If there's one advice I'd give to my freshman self it'd be STOCK UP ON MEDS!!!!! Ibuprofen, mucus relief, and cold medicine are a necessity. And don't buy name brands; Target Up&Up and similar store brands have the same thing at a cheaper price.
Just like the last time I got sick, all of a sudden my throat started to hurt and no amount of water can quench the pain. Then it got worse. No cough yet, but it's coming soon I fear. Ugh I hate how drowsy I feel. I'm visiting my uni's student health center tomorrow. The last time I went all they gave me was a nasal spray and told me to keep taking OTC drugs 😠Hopefully it's just a cold or common flu and not some kind of nasty virus.
Update 4/3/26: Sooo I got tested. It wasn't Covid and it wasn't flu. My post-nasal drip be acting up. Doctor said it doesn't look viral and it might be allergy, which means I might be fucked because as far as I know I don't have any 💀 It's almost the EXACT symptoms as last time, just not as severe (...yet?). I'll have to look into allergy testing then... kinda crazy to think that I've been walking around with an unknown allergy all my life. Oh well.
I'm feeling slightly better than yesterday, I think. Throat hurts less, not painful to swallow water anymore, but I feel dizzy whereas yesterday was only drowsy. Ahh god damn it.
