// I had a dream last night and it was straight up megop fanfic???
Technically dreams because I woke up after the first dream, then fell asleep and had a second dream that continued the storyline from the first. The first dream I was in a third person POV; it's kind of like I'm reading a fanfic, but instead of seeing words on a screen I'm seeing my imagination of what the fic would look like like. The second dream was straight up comic panels. I experienced the dream as how one would reading a comic on their phone, except the images are projected straight into my consciousness and takes up my entire field of vision.
The following is the text I recorded in my phone's notes app right after I woke up. Words in brackets are typos that have been fixed.
decepticon = underground world
autobot / the rest = surface
mythology vibes dont think too hard about the logistics
megatron wants to conquer all of the surface world and underworld. his faction [decepticons] is like a rogue faction of the underworld
unsuspecting Orion was chosen to be leader by divine intervention, Optimus is born. (Orion's previous [occupation] was unspecified, but he was just your [average] random worker. Its also not specified if the matrix chose him but im choosing to add on the retcon headcanon that the 13 primes are like demigods in this universe and the matrix is one the artifacts through which they communicate with the mortal world.) OP doesnt wanna fight. Turns out there's a system that to win the war you just need to convert enough people to your side. It's like a video game; you pick teams and it becomes an objective fact that you are on that side. It's a measurable thing.
OP goes to Shockwave who is like the de facto leader of the underworld and is like Hey if I convert every underground people and [Decepticon] we meet into an Autobot, eventually there won't be any people left in the underworld for Megatron to conquer and the war automatically ends. Can we do that. Shockwave's like yeah that makes sense, its up to you to convince the underground people to willingly join though good luck.
OP's plan works. Meg is confused why everyone he "kills" becomes a net gain for the autobots/surface people. (He cant [personally] oversee EVERY battle. In some battles, [Autobot] soldiers literally just [convert decepticons]/underworld to autobots *somehow* and no one dies. when they get converted they're just like Oh well [guess] we dont have to fight anymore and the battle ends.) Eventually the war ends because everyone gets converted to the Autobot side, and Megatron becomes the leader of the Decepticons which now controls the rest of the underworld. The underworld is a minor population in contrast to surface population. there was actually numbers in my dreams maybe something like tens of thousands vs 6 digit number. The two sides more of less coexist in harmony in a weird standstill.
THAT WAS ALL THE BACKGROUND SET UP THIS IS A MEGOP FIC. THE ROMANCE PART STARTS HERE
Megatron wins the war and becomes bored. He controls an avatar and assume the name D-16. D-16 is a separate physical body from Megatron, it's like a physical avatar he can somehow control remotely and plug his [consciousness] into. This is not Magic this is normal in the universe. He works at an "automated cafe" where the food is made by machines and delivered to customers by non-sentient robots (like the kind you see in real life [restaurants] but smarter and bigger obviously). he's the only worker there. people visiting the store are lowkey scared of him because nobody knows his background but knows [that] he must be somewhat important because he hasn't or can't get fired so no one bothers him. OP visit the cafe, assuming the name/identity of Orion because hes there to get away from [responsibilities] too he needs a break. Eventually he befriends D-16 as he's the only "regular" there (exact words used in my dream btw. idk why I said regular when he's an employee). Starscream was there in the story for a split second I think? He gets like one line complaining about Megatron not being a responsible ruler. He's part of Megatron's high command and all of his high command are like wtf is our leader doing spending all this time at a random cafe he needs to come back to work. Megatron's like idgaf in my time-off I get to do whatever I want.
And then dating trope where they dont know who each other actually is yada yada. Megatron is trying to figure out the mystery of how the war ended because even though he technically ruled/controls the underworld now it's like wayyyy less people than it should be. OP doesn't realize who he is at least early on. OP realize Megatron's identity (before Megatron realize who he is) and choose to pursue the relationship anyway against everyone else's better judgements.
Story ends with them coming to realize who each other is. Probably some miscommunication and angst. Eventually they make up and live happily ever after.
The last part is not crystallized because I realized this is a dream and chose to wake up to record it. it's so insane that I dreamed up a whole fanfic plot. If I continue dreaming I mightve fleshed out the plot, but the risk is that when I wake up in the morning I might not be able to remember the dream. it is currently 4 am on the dot. I hope this is coherent enough that I won't look at it in the morning and be like WTF was I on.
MORE FOLLOW UP
This time its presented to me in a comic format. Takes place after Megatron finds out that Orion is Optimus. Megatron has the ability to pull people's consciousness into a dream. it's like a collective dream VR world but Megatron controls it all. He pulls Optimus and Bumblebee into his dream. Meg says something cruel I don't remember any exact dialogue. He and OP goes back and forth. Meg gets mad and changes OP's body in the dream into Orion and OP and Bumblebee understandably freaks out. I think Megatron looks like TFP Meg and Orion is G1. Continuity doesn't really matter in this dream (my dream) it's just set dressing and it's inconsistent anyway. (D-16 looked like TFOne D-16 but I remember thinking that looks out of place because it doesn't make sense for a bot to be cogless in this universe.)
Megatron proceeds to torture Orion but the comic and I guess my dream ends before he actually does anything. Bumblebee is there because Megatron wants to be cruel and forces him to watch OP getting tortured. Physical torture in the dream doesn't translate into the real world but it's definitely mental torture. Maybe they get freaky IDK. Poor Bumblebee though bro was forced to watch his parents fight 💀💀 my dream cooking up a megop divorce arc is crazy. I think for a brief moment I was aware that this is a follow-up dream to the previous dream, but I wasn't aware enough to have any control over the content of my dream. My subconsciousness is cooking up things I would never imagine awake holy shit.

Ok so like. What the hell ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ I think this is the first time I had a dream about megop???? The first one I could remember anyway. I was listening to this ASMR video when I fell asleep the first time. It's cyberpunk robot repair so... Transformers adjacent if you really squint? I think the secrete identity dating trope was definitely subconsciously inspired by this amazing megop fic. The last mythology-adjacent fic I read was this one, but my dream plot had basically no similarity with it so idk how much that could've influenced me.
If I was a writer I would definitely write this into a fic lmaoooo. Unfortunately I am not. I'd like to though; maybe one day. Creative writing was never my thing (I'm bad at it 😔).
