// I Like Blogging

For the past 3 months, I've been blogging pretty consistently ever since I got Zonelets set up on this site. And I think that's pretty awesome. I often spend way more time than I tended writing here lol. Who knew I had so much to say :P

It's nice to have an outlet, a place where I can write (type) out some of my longer, recurring thoughts. There's something about typing in HTML that I really like. Shout out to VS Code and their live page preview, and whoever made the the spell check plugin. Even though I try to keep the blog posts pretty modular with limited functions, the ability to add links/images and customize them exactly to my need already makes it better than Discord. I still gotta figure out how to embed videos though.

One thing about me is that I have a really bad memory, which is part of why I like to take photos and document my travels. There are two problems though: 1) I'm not always gonna remember the context in which I took the photo or the reason why I took it and 2) my phone only has so much storage. As it turns out, blogging solves both of these problems! I get to take photos that I know will be temporarily stored in my phone and later write about them to my heart's content <3 It has also made me less inclined to use Instagram—the only social media where I'm present as my Real Life self—because why do I need to make a post about it when I can blog it! I think what I enjoy about blogging is that I'm mainly writing for myself. The knowledge that, on a rare occasion, someone might stumble across this website, is enough to satisfy my urge to Post and Share with the world.

// I Like Microblogging

I like to take photos of mundane things I find interesting. A cool plane flying overhead, an interesting street name, random thing I came across on the internet... I used to spam my Instagram stories with stuff like that, but eventually I realized "wait nobody cares about this but me". So I made a private account with zero followers specifically to post about these things. I was basically microblogging there before I knew the word microblogging was a thing lol. Although I haven't used it much at all the past two years after I migrated to Discord. (I have a server set up where it's just me.) Nowadays, Status Cafe and my Discord server pretty much satisfies all my microblogging needs :D Just gotta wait for my Piclog account to be activated...
