Today is Veteran's Day which means no class yay. My options were either 1) stay home, chillax and draw (while watching TFA) or 2) Go to the local county park and zoo. (The zoo is located inside of the park.) I decided to go to the park and zoo because I figured getting some fresh air is always nice, plus I really don't explore enough! Last year I only went out like 2 times the entire school year, which is honestly a waste. I want to make up for that this year by exploring my college town and the surrounding area a bit more :] This trip was an impromptu plan made the day before, but luckily the everything turned out pretty well!

It was foggy in the morning, and that kinda almost made me cancel plans. Part of why I was looking forward to this trip was that I got my Oppy plushie the day before, so I really wanted to take him out and take photos. But photos only look nice when the sun is out :( Plus I'm just not that big of a fan of cloudy days... it feels a little depressing. I like blue skies with clouds. Luckily, the fog cleared up while I was on the bus! Oh, and did I mention that the bus ride to the park was 2 hours? I'm always a bit vary going this far away from home relying on a transportation system I essentially have no control over, but since I've been taking public transit more recently, I'm proud to say that I can handle 2 hours of buses now! 🚌💙

- Mountain lion mwah. Its mannerism is just a big ol cat. It's even lying down like one. So majestic too, you can really feel the strength in its body seeing it walk around. It reminds me of my cat (I miss my cat).
- I love opossums. Opossums are one of my favorite animals <3 It's so creature. I've only ever seen one out in the wild. True patriots brake for America's only native marsupial /ref. When I was in front of the enclosure someone near me said opossums are "ugly" and that made me a little sad :( A dad also told his kid that opossums are actually called "possums" but they just spell it "opossums" and that made me roll my eyes a little on the inside because lowkey that's misinformation. Heh. Erm actually, while opossums are commonly/colloquially called "possums", the correct spelling is always "opossums".
- I think the black panther is my favorite animal I saw at the zoo. One of my cats is named Panther; he's a black cat lol.
- Black bear. He lowkey looks kinda sad but that's just my imagination I think.
- Ocelot in da box. Proof that all cats like boxes.
- This zoo has goats that you can pet.
- TIL that peccaries exist. The one laying down sunbathing looks so comfy. Oh to be a peccary laying down and enjoying the sun and doing nothing all day...

The park had a couple of trails and I went hiking. As expected, these trails are pretty barren devoid of trees. I really don't think there are any forests in SoCal lol. One of the vantage points was a pile of rocks covered in carvings. It probably wasn't the best idea to go on a hike while still recovering from a sprained ankle, but my life is filled with bad decisions, as always. By the time I got home I was tired as hell but I had fun :) After I got off the bus, while waiting at a red light, someone noticed my TF plushies in my itabag and asked me what characters they are. I said they're Transformers character and they said "Oh so like Arcee?". I was surprised (and happy) that they know who Arcee is. I said "yeah! This is Megatron and Optimus Prime" and that was that. Cheers to normal human social interactions /pos.
